Welcome to Logos & Markets

Hi, I'm Drew Blazsik, a finance and economics professor, passionate educator, and father of seven. This platform is the intersection of my academic work, research, and creative projects. Here, I share videos and insights on the history of money, economics, and financial systems, both ancient and modern. From the forgotten moral teachings on usury to deep dives into central banking and alternative monetary systems, I explore how our financial choices shape society, culture, and the soul.

I’m especially fascinated by the history of money, the evolution of monetary systems, and how we might rethink them today. Whether it’s gold, fiat, Bitcoin, or something entirely new, this is where I examine how we got here and where we could go.

But teaching is where it all starts.

I created the Structured Immediate Method (SIM) as a revolutionary alternative to passive PowerPoint lectures. SIM is a hands-on, real-time feedback system that focuses on teaching process, not just answers. It’s designed to resist the temptation and shortcuts of AI and cheating by making learning active, engaging, and rewarding. Students, from grade school through college, get immediate feedback on their work, developing confidence, accuracy, and a deeper understanding.

Over time, SIM has grown from a classroom tool into a scalable system for all ages, including interactive math games for kids, financial modeling for professionals, and economics exercises for teachers. I'm currently writing a paper on SIM’s educational psychology, especially the power of instant validation: seeing the right answer light up right when you solve it correctly.

This site and community are built for learners, educators, researchers, and thinkers. Whether you're a parent looking for better ways to teach, a college student studying markets, or a teacher tired of the same old slides, Logos & Markets offers something new, rooted in tradition, built for the future.

Why is it called “Logos & Markets”?

I created this website under the name Logos & Markets because it captures both the structure of my teaching philosophy and the theological depth behind my work.

The word Logos appeals to logic, reason, and order, the foundation of my educational approach. In subjects like finance and economics, structure matters. Learning must follow a clear, sequential process, and students need immediate feedback to know whether they are on the right path. My teaching method, SIM (Structured Immediate Method), was born from this belief: that truth in learning emerges through clarity, order, and correction.

But Logos also carries a deeper meaning. In Christian theology, Logos refers to the Word, Christ Jesus. My research, writings, and videos are rooted in the belief that economics, like all human endeavors, must be aligned with truth itself. This includes examining the moral dimensions of markets, the dangers of usury, and the purpose of money in serving the human person.

Markets, on the other hand, refers to the practical side of this platform: I teach and discuss topics that are market-based, such as economics, finance, investment, and monetary systems. These are the tools that shape our world. But without truth and structure (Logos), markets lose their way.

Together, Logos & Markets reflects both the method and the mission, teaching that is grounded in truth, aimed at understanding markets, and ultimately directed toward the common good.

If you Logos and Markets is where faith, finance, and reason come together. Through educational videos and posts, I explore topics in economics, financial modeling, and Catholic thought—combining timeless principles with modern insights.
